Sippy Cup

I had started trying to master the sippy cup back when I turned 8 months old, but then I was sick on and off for about a month. So, Mommy decided it would be best to wait until I was back to being healthy. Now I am 9 months old, healthy and working hard with my sippy cup. Today was the first day of exploring the sippy cup again and I think I am off to a great start. Check out this picture Mommy snapped of me right after dinner!


I didn't actually drink out of my sippy cup by myself yet, but I am sure I will figure out how to pretty soon. I tried to take a drink of water today, but Mommy says it doesn't work unless you tilt the sippy cup up towards the ceiling. We'll see who knows better. :-) Just kidding. I'll keep you posted on all the sippy cup action. Love you all!

Smile for the Camera!!!

At 9-months, our big boy still loves to smile and laugh at the camera. This picture was taken at our house a few days before Christmas. Mommy and Daddy gave Benjamin his wagon toy Christmas present early. We had to pick up, put up, and decorate our second Christmas tree of the season. (That's another story I will have to share another time.) Benjamin just looked at the camera and smiled. Mommy didn't even have to make any faces at him. Enjoy!

Here are a few pictures from Christmas 2007! We traveled to Mom and Dad Strickland's house and spent Christmas with the whole Strickland family. We thoroughly enjoyed Christmas 2007and hope you enjoy the pictures. Mom and Dad Strickland, thanks for housing us while we were in town. Andrew, Amanda, and Noah, thanks for spending the day with us. Can't wait to see the King and Strickland families again!

After fixing a few minor computer problems, we are back. Since our family lives across many states, we again mailed presents to each other this Christmas. On the upside, that means we received many presents via the mail! Benjamin particularly enjoyed receiving presents via the mail. Not because of the wrapped packages inside, but because of the box in which the wrapped packages were shipped. As you have probably already guessed, Benjamin enjoyed all the boxes. So, to everyone who mailed packages to us this Christmas, thanks! You made our day!! Enjoy!

My Favorite Things

It's been a while since our last post, so I thought I would talk about our big boy's new favorite things to do.

He loves to:
Play with spoons
Get playfully thrown into the air and then caught by Mommy or Daddy
Sit on Daddy's shoulders

Bang Measure Up Cups together
Knock down towers that Mommy and Daddy build (over and over again!)
Explore and play with his new nursery rhyme cloth book
Open and close his Daddy's desk drawers in his office
Grab at anything that he can see and get his little hands on
