We were all just about ready to walk out to the car when Christian and I noticed a couple walking up to the front door. Christian got a better look at our surprise visitors than I did, and to our pleasant surprise it was Pastor and Mrs. Ahlschwede from Michigan! We met them during Christian's vicarage year and learned sooo much from them (along with all of the church's brothers and sisters we were fortunate to work with during that year)! They could only stay for a short while, as they were visiting us on their way to a relative's house, but it was WONDERFUL to see them! During the visit, they met our big boy for the first time, saw the parsonage, church and school, and my vegetable garden. We managed to take the above photo before they had to leave.
